Projects Annunciation School Leogane In 1998, the Annunciation community built a school in Leogane, Haiti for the poor, uneducated children of the area. Annunciation School, grades 1-6th consists of eight classrooms, a kitchen, dining room, and restrooms for 165 students. The children receive a noon meal, a uniform plus all school supplies. The faculty consists of eight teachers, one whom teaches English to all grades. The Haitian sisters of the Company of Jesus manage the school on our behalf. The maintenance and finance of the school is the responsibility of Mission Haiti Inc. Many projects have occurred over the past two years. Hundreds of books have been purchased and donated in order to expand the library and the school now has two laptop computers Village of Jesus The Village of Jesus was founded in 1998 by Mission of Mercy. This facility which is managed by the sisters provides care for abandoned elderly women. It shares the same complex of Annunciation School. In 2007, Mission Haiti Inc. decided to take over the maintenance and finance of this facility. It currently has dormitories, laundry facilities, a kitchen, dining area, and bathrooms to accommodate these women. Believing in the dignity of all people, we are committed to providing these women with daily meals and a home in which to live. GRANT RECIPIENTS 2007
